Dad is important because he is the protector of the home. If you have daughters this is very important because most boys who try to date your daughters will stay away from your home if they have to meet dad. When your daughter tells her boyfriend "you need to meet my dad" he automatically knows he has to impress her dad and dad knows what he wants from his daughter. The boy will have to show some respect to your daughter because the boy is thinking in his mind "I don’t want to get in trouble with your dad." When dad isn’t home, that leaves his children vulnerable for hurt physically and mentally from people who prey on homes with out dads.
Dad is important because his boys have someone to identify with when he is growing up. When his sons start to mature and start to like girls and he has sexual thoughts, dad can help him get through those tough times. It’s hard for mom to raise her son by herself, when your son starts to feel sexual and if dad isn’t there your son will learn from his friends about sex. Dad can tell his son how to respect women and be that example to his kids with their mom on how his sons and daughters should be treated when they start to date.
Dad, never let no one tell you that "we don’t need you, we will be OK without you." That is a lie, dad you are vital to the growth and mental development of your child. Dad brings stuff like protection, order, discipline and respect to the home. Fathers you are appreciated and needed!
