Best Parents

When I read the title, I look at it from a reader's point of view and I think: "What does this guy have to say that I don't already know". In my growing up years I always knew without doubt that my parents loved me. As I grew my parents considered displays of affection inappropriate for my age. The warmth of their love seemed to dwindle. Notice I said the warmth of their love, the love itself remained constant. At the age of 40, I have realized that my parents knew more than what I gave them credit for. Many of us don't listen to our parents because we think they are ancient. Looking back, I realize that my parents gained their wisdom by surviving on common sense and street smarts. I would like to share some things I have learned from them.
